SGI® Reality CenterTM displays are available in many different configurations--desks, flat walls, curved walls, and rooms of three to six sides. The type of Reality Center facility that is right for you depends on a variety of factors, including application and type of data to be used, audience size anticipated, degree of collaboration and immersion needed, funding, level of flexibility required, space constraints, and public relations needs.
Reality Center desk, wall, and room configurations can each work for different applications. The following are brief descriptions of each general type of display configuration, with links to more specific information about each type of configuration.

Desks--These off-the-shelf immersive devices are suitable for small groups or individual work and are ideal when the working environment requires a high degree of natural interaction with digital models. Their size provides enhanced scale while maintaining the work desk style of interaction. [More] |

Walls--Reality Center wall displays are ideal for
large groups and are available in front- and rear-projected
configurations. Cylindrically or spherically curved walls
provide both scale and a high degree of immersion while encompassing
the audience's peripheral vision. Flat wall environments are
typically rear projected (no shadows cast by collaborators)
and display images without distortion while allowing optimal
perception from all viewpoints. Wall displays are available
in both custom environments and as standard off-the-shelf
display units. [More] |

Rooms--The most immersive of facilities, rooms may
be configured with three to six surfaces to enclose the users
within their data. From virtual worlds to complex data analysis
and models of physical phenomena, these highly immersive facilities
add the ability to maintain a sense of place within the model.
