Oracle HRMS going live at SSH
15/02/2009
Employees at Saad Group will now begin experiencing a major change in the way their human recourses transactions are initiated and handled. The group has just started instigating a gradual implementation of the new Oracle Human Resources Management System (HRMS). The system has been brought on by Saad’s Information Technology Department as an effort to facilitate the processing of employee transactions and to speed up the otherwise tedious human resource activities. The system, created by Oracle Inc., has been developed based on global human resources standards and best practices. It encompasses multiple modules and handles transactions in areas such as payroll, recruitment, benefits and allowances, learning management, and self service. All transactions concerning employees such as salary calculation and payment, vacations and leaves will all be handled using the new system. One of the most remarkable features of this system is perhaps the self service module, which will be launched shortly. The self service module will allow all of the employees and managers in the group to fill, submit as well as approve forms and requests, such as vacation requests, from the comfort of their own desks. They will also be able to view information regarding their performance appraisals and the status of their requests and their different balances through the system. An employee will able able, for example, to request a benefit change by simply filling in the request form on his personal page and submitting it. Obtaining approval to the various requests will also become an automated process done through the self service module of the system. Oracle HRMS is used by a large number of global organizations. This is mainly due to its customizability and its integration capabilities. It also allows for data intelligence activities such as reporting, which can help in the decision making process as well as in trending and forecasting later on in the future. The first phase of the implementation at SSH has begun as of January 2008.
